H1b 6 year calculation

Hi

My question is w.rt to 6 year computation on H1B visa.

Below are my travel dates to US.

First entry - H1 was approved in 2005 but travelled only in 2007

oct 2007 – oct 2009 - left US in 2009 after 2 years .During this period, applied for an extension and got approved till 0ct 2010

2nd entry

Feb 2010 - July 2010 - left US after 5 months and applied for an extension from india. The extension was rejected.

H1 expired in oct 2010.

My employer filed a new H1 in oct 2011 under Cap exempt category and H1 was approved.

I travelled to US again in last year sep 2013 and currently in US. I recently applied for an extension and got approved for 2.2 years.

I want to know how the 6 year limit is calculated in my case. Please advise.

Is there 6 clock reset since i was out of US for 3 years from 2010

It gets reset with 1 year continuous outside USA time per petition. So let’s say You travelled on 1st H1B and completed 6 years you comeback to homecountry, File another petition if approved get another 6 years. In your case it doen’t follow the usual procedure. Lucky you.
