H1 Selected in Lottery and now planning to switch job in India

This might appear to be a unusual situation, so let me explain it.

My H1-B application has been picked in lottery and I am waiting for petition to be approved.

However, I am not too keen to travel to US as of now because of some personal commitments, also I am not too happy in my current job both in terms of compensation and role.

Now, if leave my current job and move to another company in India, what will happen to my application ?

As far as I know companies do no provide us any documents related to visa before we go for visa stamping.

So, if my next employer wants to apply for H1 sometime in future , will that be considered a new application altogether ?

Also, please let me know if there are any documents which I should ask from my current employer before leaving this job, which may be required if I have to apply for H1 in future ?

Look forward to expert inputs.

If you make the switch, your current Employer can and most probably will get your H1B petition cancelled.

The next time you file for an H1B, it will be considered a new petition altogether as your old one is not even approved.

It will be useful to get the H1B Receipt Number from your current employer if they are willing to share it, but in all likelyhood they would not.

Thanks for your answer.

Since it is still 2-3 months by when I will finally leave, so what happens if my petition is approved ?

Will it make any difference or whenever I apply next time it will be considered a new application ?

Thanks again for your response.
