Consider the scenario: Change of status from F-1 to H-1b. First time H-1b processing. Mumbai consulate for any processing.
I’m curious to know what happens once the H-1b ‘change-of-status’ application is approved, the status changes to H-1b on Oct 1, and I have to travel outside the US after Oct 1. I’m aware that one needs to get H-1b stamped to re-enter the US after change-of-status and after Oct 1.
My question is - Is the H-1b stamping done via dropbox procedure or does one have to schedule an interview since it is the first time? If it is consulate specific, then consider Mumbai consulate.
