Enter US on valid h1b visa stamp + I-797 but no job offer

Hello, My spouse came to India in December 2019. Her H1B & 797 is valid till 2022. However, her employer has changed her to a contractor (working from India) but they haven’t withdrawn her h1b. Can she visit US for a week so she can donate all the items in our apartment and terminate the lease on our apartment - we have been paying rent in USD for 6 months now :frowning:

No, you should NOT enter US on H1B visa.
You can enter on B2 visa as tourist and take care of your things.
If you try to enter without H1B job, you can be in trouble at Port of Entry and can be sent back.
