Ensuring physical receipt of H1B application on 1 April ?

Hi ! Saurabh,

Many thanks for your reply to my earlier post on H1B 2014 lottery.

It is informed that USCIS will consider applications that are physically received at their premises and not as per date stamped on application packet.

I wish to know suggested precautions to ensure the application packet booked with FEDEX / USPS surely reaches the respective USCIS Office on April 1, Monday. It is observed many times it takes 4 to 5 days on the average for FEDEX / USPS to deliver.

March 30 and 31 being the weekend days, Is it advisable to book the packet on 27 th or 28 th March ?

At times they provide confirm deliveries as well. Let’s say if you sign-up for 2 day shipping then it will be delivered in 2 days.

To be on a safer side, you can send w/ 2 days delivery but send it 3 days in advance to accomodate for any delays. When you talk to FedEx/UPS folks, they will be able to guide you about the best option to select.
