DS160 intended length of stay vs I797

Hello all,

I have filled and submitted the DS160. I just need a clarification for the question Intended length of stay in US.

I filled it as one year but my I797 is valid from 01Oct2014 to 30Aug2017. Is that fine? Or do I need to change it?

What should I say if VO raises question in this.Is it something like VO will approve my visa for only one year?

It does not matter. I797 is the governing document.

Just say that the project you are going for is for just one year and also say that if the project extented , you may stay there for couple more months.
