I need your opinion on how to fill out the DS 160 form.
The “primary occupation” area has a pop-up menu with many alternatives, ranging from student to Not employed. I finished my MS degree while on an F1 visa for 2015–19, and I returned to India on time. I didn’t enroll in any courses at a college or joined a job afterward. Can I select “student” as my primary occupation on the DS-160 ?
Or, may I choose “Not Employed” and enter “I am now preparing to join a PhD program at ABC University” in the explanation box.
You need to enter your current status, not past or future status.
