Does reduced working hours for an H1 B visa holder due to personal problems needs filing an amendment?

Hi,

My H1B visa got approved on Oct.04. My employer filed 20h/w for me, but due to some baby stuff (I am a new mom) I am not able to meet this frame work sometimes. I wondered if we need to file an amendment for it? How much time do I have to file the amendment? How much paperwork does it need? Can my employer file it by herself or she needs a lawyer to do it?

Employer needs to file a new LCA with updated hours and then file an amendment I-824. It is better for employer to go through the document and see if this is something understand and can do themseleves, or prefer to hire a lawyer especially if they haven’t done this in the past.
