Yes, visa approval rates will surely differ with university to university. If you are going to stanford , berkeley, etc visa officers will put red carpet and welcome you to america. where as if you are going to some small university which is not well known then they will surely ask questions like “why thi suniversity?” then you will have to justify your decision.
