Dl expiry due to i94 end date - L1 Extension

  1. I am about to apply l1 extension before i94 expiry, how to drive after expiry date as my DL date is tagged by i94 last date ?

  2. if my l1 extension gets deny ( bad scenario ) during 240 grace period can I switch to old expired approved h1 B receipt. ?

If your I-94 has expired, you cannot apply for COS. You need to be in valid status to do COS.
