Conversion of L1B to H1B Visa.

Hi Saurab,

I have been following this website for a while now, i think this is full of loads of information.

I am currently on L1B visa from an Indian IT Firm, valid till early next year.

I would like to get a H1B. So, my question to you is, do i have to file for H1B during the window which opens from April or i can file it anytime before my visa expires next year.

could you please emphasize on timing when i need to do?

If you have never held any H-1 in the past, then it needs to be filed when the cap is open. This means from April to whatever date cap is reached.
