If I stay on non-profit visa for 7years in USA, can I apply for regular H1B cap-subject visa and then do job upon approval? Is it mandatory to go outside of USA and come after 1 year to apply/work for H1B cap-subject Visa?
The clock includes time spent inside US on H-1. It doesn’t differentiate b/w for-profit and non-profit H-1. So, IMO you need to stay outside US for 1 year after completing 6 years of H-1.
