My H1B application is picked up in the lottery, waiting for the approval. My passport used for petition is damaged. I am going to apply for a new passport. Would there will be any problem on the approval or during interview, kindly let me know.

It would not be an issue. New passport will mention the old passport number and so it is still reference.
Thanks Saurabh. Your answer gives me relief. Is this situation happened to someone and did they went through the stamping without any problem/RFE?
I don’t remember anyone who have gone through it. However people have asked this in the past and the response has been same.
