Can I work if my noncap H1b is pending and my OPT expired?

USA F1, F2 Visas - CPT - OPT

My OPT will expire Oct. 7th. My noncap H1B is still pending right now (just reponded Request For Evidence today ).

Can I still work legally after Oct. 7th if no response is received from USCIS?

yes you can work until you get the decision from the USCIS.
