Can I travel on B1 while H1B(first time) petition is in process?

Hi,

I have a B1/B2 visa stamped. I traveled for 6 weeks on B1 and came back recently. While I was there my H1B got picked in the lottery and petition to be filed very soon.

My manager informed I am expected to travel again very soon on B1.

Is it going to have an impact on the petition? Is it going to get delayed?
One of my colleagues said, his petition got approved only after coming back from the USA in October.

I haven’t heard of any issues traveling on B1/B2 with a legit reason and purpose of the visit while H1B is pending.
