Can I change my f2 visa status to f1 or h1b ?

Hi Everyone.

I am on f2 visa on USA. Can I change my status to f1 or h1b. If so what are the procedure and what the step?

How long will it take to change my status?

Yes, you can. If you want to change to F1 status, you need to secure an admission at a school and get I-20. You will need to work with the Designated school official in that school for the process of changing from F2 to F1.
If you intend to change to H1B visa, you need to find an employer willing to sponsor you H1B Visa. Also, H1B is cap subject, so the H1B season begins in April. You need to work with your H1B Sponsor’s immigration attorney for process on change of status from F2 to H1B.

Thank you kumar. I do have few question ,Could you elaborate for me about H1B is cap subject, I am new to these terms ? and where can I find a H1B Sponsor’s immigration attorney ? or should I find a job first? really confused ?
