Can i apply for OPT & H1B within a gap of 2 weeks? Does it affect the approval of either one?

Hello,

I am finishing my masters in 2 months. I am working and applying for OPT now. My employer is filling my H1b which is after 2 weeks. Does applying one after the other affect the approval of either one or it is ok?

My course is not a STEM course so i am NOT eligible for OPT extn. Please advise.
