I recently blocked my interview date. In the mean time my employer applied for H1b amendment. I blocked my date using the existing receipt number. Once my amendment is approved I will get a new receipt number. So can I update receipt number in my inteview application? Will there be any problem due to it?
It should be fine in my opinion. You can check w/ your immigration cell as well, or contact the consulate help desk.
You should also update the receipt number in the DS-160 form. BTW, are you sure that amendment will get approved by your interview date?
My interview is on April 30th so I suppose I have enough time.
