B1 to H1 conversion and F-1 to H-1 conversion possibilities

One of my friends got his H-1 petition approved. He has a B-1 visa but no client letter. He dont want to risk getting his visa rejected. He is planning to go with B-1 visa, enter US and start working with H-1. I know this is not encouraging, but there are not much options left. Does he need fill any form for conversion before working in US.

Another question from me is ,…Is it possible to enter USA on F-1 and start working (consider H-1 petition is already approved)…Simply I am asking if F-1 to H-1 transfer is possible within a month of entering US for studies.

Thanks

Raj

Any Conversion needs COS (Change Of Status) to be filed after entering US thru B1/F1…

Both are risky, coz its violation of B1, as well F1…

Even if COS is filed, there are chances of asking client letter…

So, Client Letter is mandatory

Please read & understand this link throughly

Change of Status, has to be filed for changing your status of stay from 1 type of non-immigration to another type

entering on B1/B2 means either business/meetings or tourist (depends on what you declare the paperwork at the Port of entry), but not marketing & finding jobs..!!!

Any visa, if you enter you have to exit the same way, but Change of status are encouraged, when you have a very valid & solid reason & supporting documentation.

If your employer has a client letter, which you think is strong to support your COS, you can try, but when u have such strong letter, your stamping will also be through

Stamping is never a risk, if you have proper documentation & solid reason to get that visa you are applying for...also the candidate should be deserving...!!!!

Does COS has to be approved as well …for my friend to start working on H-1…What is the average time it takes for that
