Hello, I am currently on my F1 visa status. I applied for my change of status to H4 and H4-EAD together in June. In mid-September, the case status for both applications (i-539 and i-765) changed to ‘Fee Will Be Refunded’ and while calling USCIS found out that my both cases were closed administratively. USCIS doesn’t tell me more than that. I don’t know the reason why my case was closed. We received receipt notices for both cases but it only says how they will refund my fees. I am not sure what are the next steps for me? Can somebody explain what does it mean?

I have encountered the same situation. Only difference is I have received the checks but not received any communication from uscis. My case status online says case is received. Did uscis let u know the reason?
