Hello All,

I attended for H1 visa interview on July 17th at Calcutta Consulate but received application 221g white slip. But i already have H4 stamped visa. Now i would like to know -

  1. is it safe to travel on H4 visa since i have sent all the documents to consulate but don’t know how long its going to take to get the H1 approval.

  2. If i travel on H4 in September & start working on H4 EAD (say from October 2019) is my H1 still valid if the approval comes after i moved to US.

3, If the H1 approval comes after I moved to US then how much time i will have, if i want to come back & get the stamping done.

yes, you can travel, as long as your H4 visa is valid on passport and NOT cancelled without prejudice..
They will need passport to give you visa stamp, so that is no possible as you will be out of the country.
