Afraid: will I be out of status

Hello Admins,

Please help. I am in US currently on H4 visa and have an approved H1b COS starting Oct 1. However, My employer is planning to extend my joining date later than Oct as project has not yet commenced; and is discussing with attorney. Will I be out of status after Oct 1 as my payroll will not running. Or is there any grace period to join work.

There is no grace period and the employer should pay you irrespective of whether you are on a project or not. Not getting paid results in accumulation of out of status.
