221g blue form administrative processing, no docs asked, passport retained, Chennai 16th

i gave biometrics on March 15th and went to interview on March 16 and asked me to give biometrics again. Was asked general questions like salary, employer, direct hire, work location? I work for a Univ hospital and a direct hire. VO retained the passport and gave me a 221g blue form with admin processing. I asked the VO regarding the time frame, she mentioned it won’t take long. The question is my fiancé is planning for h4 visa interview on April 9th. If mine is in admin processing, is it okay for her to attend her interview? Anyone experienced similar situation? Is anyone else waiting with admin processing? I read online, the best case is 5 business day and worst case as 1 year. Anyone waiting for admin processing from the same timeframe?

I gave my h1b interview on the 16th too and my passport was retained and was given a blue slip. I still haven’t heard anything. Have you?

Sharon, it still says admin processing. No docs asked so far. Have they asked for any documents? Which location was yours? Arun

I went to the Chennai consulate. They asked for my resume and employers letter at the interview but nothing since then. My status still says admin processing. Let me know if your case has any change.

I am in the same boat as you. Attended interview on March 13 and got 221g blue form.Mine is h1 extension.

Havent heard back from them till now.

I would suggest that you postpone your fiance’s interview until you get your approved. There is very less possibility that they will approve her with yours still pending.

Nothing, but I did see a couple of March 13th cases being processed/approved between yesterday and today in the immihelp tracker. Hopefully that means something good for us too. Did you get any updates?

My visa got issued on the 9th and I received my passport yesterday. Hopefully you got yours too. Just wanted to update you as I won’t be checking this site often anymore.
